Stow 13, Aylesbury 12

Stow had a good pattern and lineout ball provided plenty of opportunities.

However, it was the visitors who started the better. Stow's defence was watertight and Aylesbury, for all their efforts in the first quarter, could only kick two penalties.

Stow got off the mark when the ball went down short side after a forward drive, centre Halldane Skjrup outpaced the defence then chipped the full back for James Reid to collect and score. Just before the break Stow were caught offside and Aylesbury kicked their third penalty to lead 9-5.

The second half saw Stow take control of the game with everyone linking well, but not quite managing to finish off the chances. However, from a period of pressure the Stow pack drove over the line with Mat Pauling scoring the try. This went unconverted.

Stow continued to play well, but then with only five minutes remaining the visitors slotted another penalty to retake the lead.

From the re-start Stow regained the ball and kept driving forward retaining possession, then an Aylesbury hand was spotted in the ruck. Stow's first kick of the day, taken by James Reid, went over for victory.
