FOOTBALL has kicked off at Kidderminster Cricket Club for the first time in more than 100 years.
And Kidderminster Lions are delighted to have joined forces with Chester Road Sporting Club.
Lions, established by chairman Stephen Pagett four years ago, now boast seven teams.
Tomkinsons Carpets gave the ground to the cricket club on the understanding only small, hard ball games were played there but the conditions ran out two years ago.
Lions U-10s won the first game 4-0 against Bewdley Town with goals from Tom Birch (two), Brian Hickman and Francis Doherty.
Sunday also saw the first of the soccer school sessions for five to 11-year-olds. More information is available on 01562 823326.
