A REDDITCH student has become the town's second Olympic medallist in a month.
Teenage NEW College pupil Richard White won bronze in the 200m at Sydney on Sunday to follow in the footsteps of silver medallist equestrian Leslie Law.
And the 18-year-old runner, who has a learning disability and slight cerebral palsy, was set to compete in his favoured 100m event yesterday (Tuesday).
But the Bromsgrove lad will take it in his stride after a number of international successes and he holds the Australian All-comers 400m record with a time of 1min 7sec.
Richard is a popular student, and both staff and students are following the Paralympic games very closely so we can keep track of his success, said course co-ordinator Madeleine Slater-Vaughn.
We are all rooting for him and wish him every success.
