A COLOURFUL, carnival-style spectacle by the Green Candle Dance Company visits The Theatre, Chipping Norton, next Wednesday.
Focusing on deforestation and saving the environment, Alanna and the Tree was inspired by a trip to the Amazon rainforest and has been specially created to appeal to seven to 12-year-olds. The story centres on Alanna whose village is threatened with destruction by the building of a road.
Discovering that the president is the person responsible for such actions and, determined to stop this tragedy, she sets off to talk to him. On her way she meets a tree which can talk and move and the pair continue their journey to the city together to persuade the president not to build the road. The performance starts at 6pm.
