VOLUNTEERS are being sought in Wyre Forest to provide a bereavement support service for people whose sons or daughters have died as adults.
The Parents Experiencing Adult Loss (PEAL) charity, set up last year, has appealed for the extra volunteers as demand for the service, which covers Worcestershire, has grown.
Need is spread fairly evenly across the county, according to the charity's support services director, Diana Williams.
PEAL has recently been awarded £3,500 in the Millennium Festival Awards for All. Most of the money is earmarked for training new volunteers.
The service helps parents whose children have died aged 16 or over.
"We need volunteers from Wyre Forest so they can visit parents in the Wyre Forest area," said Mrs Williams. "We would like local people who would be able to work within their own area."
Anyone considering becoming a volunteer or who might want support as a bereaved parent can contact Mrs Williams on 01905 723001.
