MY son cut his hand badly at work. He was driven to Kidderminster Hospital by a colleague where he was told, after his hand was dressed, that he needed to go to Worcester to have it stitched.

As there was no available space, he was told to attend Ganderton Ward, Worces-ter, at 8am on the Saturday.

We arrived at Ronkswood to be told that Ganderton Ward was actually at Castle Street.

It was not made clear that he should attend Castle Street, as only "Ganderton Ward, Worcester" was written on the envelope.

Luckily we were in a car so we were able to proceed to the infirmary quickly.

Later I was listening to a report on the evening news when a spokesman was actually telling us services had got better since transferring to Worcester.

As the left hand does not seem to know what the right hand is doing, I am sure there will be deaths before this disaster is resolved.
