POLICE are hunting a youth who was spotted lurking around Sainsbury's in Kidderminster for two hours before snatching a middle-aged woman's handbag.
The woman had put the bag, containing a "substantial" amount of money, in a shopping trolley at the entrance to the store in Carpet Trades Way when the youth struck at about 4pm on Tuesday.
The youth, described as aged 14 and wearing a two-tone grey anorak, snatched the bag and rode off on a yellow bicycle in the direction of the traffic lights at the junction of the ring road, leaving his victim "extremely distressed".
Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw the youth are asked to call Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888.
