HOW brilliant was Simon Davis' letter about the cinema. I agreed with him whole-heartedly. He forgot the toilets and the ice-cream girl shouting out her position at the back of the circle. The temperature can also fluctuate but we regulars know to take a thick coat.
We seem to be able to restore all the black and white buildings in the town but art deco is also history and,in my opinion, very beautiful. It should become a listed building. However, before it is destroyed, perhaps the doors could be opened and guided tours given so that we can see behind the scenes.
I, like many others, do not attend as often as I would like to, due to the "teenage taxi service" I run but I would not go to any cinema if I did not go to Evesham. Why would I want to drive a 30 mile round trip to the nearest 'luxury' cinema? Perhaps, in these enlightened times, we should set up the Save Evesham Cinema Society known as SECS (but no violence)!!!!
