SECURITY camera recorded a social club barmaid stealing from her till, Kidderminster magistrates have heard.

Susan Black stole £500 over a period of months by ringing less than the true cost of an order into her till.

She gave the customer the correct change and pocketed the difference.

She went on with the thefts, unaware that they were being recorded on video film, said prosecutor Mark Soper.

Black, 23, of Offmore Road, Kidderminster, was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community work and to pay £500 compensation to the Gilt Edge leisure centre and £118 costs.

She was worried by debt and stole rather than ask her fiance to support her, Black's solicitor, Fergus Maxwell, told the court.

Black was also banned from driving for six months and fined £480 when she admitted three offences of using her car without insurance and two of having no test certificate.
