AS the winter nears and the bloomin' nice flowers begin to fade and then lose all their colour, I would like to send my thanks, and congratulations to all the gardeners for the brilliant display at the Almonry Garden, all the season.
When I pass, I stop to look at the Burma plaque, think of all the lads and lasses who never came back, they were all good friends in the army. I was lucky - still lucky, and like many more are getting older - the Almonry Garden is a 'gem', a beautiful layout and all around the streets, the pubs with hanging baskets, flower boxes, islands, riversides, everything everywhere have been, brilliantly bloomin' nice.
