ATHLETICS: John Amos was first home for Amazing Feet RC in the 13th event in the inter-club race league, the Stroud half-marathon, but is still chasing Wayne Slater.
Amos was back in one hour 28 minutes 35 seconds but league leader Slater strengthened his position at the top of the league by being second club member home.
Slater made it in 1-29-40 and claimed bonus points for a personal best to lead Amos by 12 points with just two races remaining.
Others to finish were Andy Norris 1-41-10, Rob Edwards 1-42-12, Martin Childe 1-43-55, Colin Lucas 1-46-20, Chris Miles 1-46-46 -- a personal best in his first half-marathon, Ruth Ince 1-47-00, Norma Edwards 1-47-40 and Lindsay Pulley 2-21-00.
Richard Baker took part in Europe's largest road race, the Bupa Great North Run, for the thirteenth consecutive year, finishing the 13.1 mile course in 1-45-23.
Terry Ansell also completed the event in 1-50-00.
Eddie Sanders continued his recent fine form by storming to the over-50 male prize at the Weymouth 10 on Saturday, finishing in 1-0-20 and 13th overall.
