HOCKEY: Kidderminster Boundary Hockey Club beat Leicester 3-1 at home, thanks to goals from Mark Wheeler, Tom Jarvie and Ross Hodson.

Wheeler opened the scoring in this DTZ Debenham Thorpe League match and they carried the slender lead into the interval.

Kidderminster underlined their superiority in the second half with two more goals. Mike Brazier gave an excellent performance at left-back.

Kidderminster missed the midfield work of captain Richard Knowles but they opened the scoring in the DTZ League fixture.

However, their lead was short-lived as the home side equalised.

North Staffordshire were leading 3-2 by the break, Rupert Upshon getting Kidderminster's second goal.

In the second half, Upshon scored again, but Staffordshire found the net twice to take the three points.

This home DTZ League victory was thanks to yet another hat-trick from new signing Martin Jeans.

Despite missing a flick in the second half, the result at Olton was never in doubt once Rob Sorrell opened the scoring.

Darren Jackson scored twice in the second half which would have been a hat-trick but for the missed penalty.

Chris Brazier capped a good DTZ League performance by opening the scoring, although the visitors equalised just before half-time.

Peter Grummitt and Keith Burgess, the latter scoring two goals, put paid to Bromsgrove's hopes.

Kidderminster Ladies fielded only 10 players but gave a disciplined performance throughout this friendly.

Kate Bailey's skill played a major part in the build-up to several goals and she scored one herself.

Isabel Moore scored a hat-trick, Wendy Knowles grabbed two goals and there was one own goal.

Nicola Longmore made an impressive debut performance on the right wing for Kidderminster.
