At a meeting held in the Scout Hut, Redditch, on Friday evening, a troop of sea scouts - unique in the history of Redditch - was formed.
The instigator of the plan, Mr S Beveridge, who will be the leader of the group, has been connected with the scout movement for several years.
He has been scoutmaster of a senior troop in Redditch, serving time as assistant district commissioner in Edinburgh. The fact they are some distance from the sea does not dampen the enthusiasm of Mr Beveridge.
