A CONCERNED Rubery councillor is calling on water bosses to take action and stop a leak in the village before someone is seriously hurt.

Bromsgrove district councillor Peter McDonald (Lab, Uffdown and Waseley) fears the pavement and road where the leak has sprung could become an ice rink in winter.

He says the water has been coming up from under the pavement, in Callowbrook Lane, since August but nothing has been done.

Now he is calling on Severn Trent Water to sort it out before there is a serious accident and has contacted the Worcestershire Highways Partnership in Bromsgrove.

He added: "The path is unusable because of all the water and is a hazard for residents particularly the elderly and children."

A spokesman for the company apologised for the "oversight." He promised inspectors would visit the site immediately.
