MEMBERS enjoyed a rare treat at the monthly meeting when they were entertained with a side show by Hugh Jones on village geology.
He explained how rocks were formed in the landscape, how they were quarried and the huge variety of types and colours that could be obtained from different areas around the country.
To fully appreciate the skill and beauty of stone combined with durability and style, a walk over Bidford-on-Avon medieval bridge is a truly rewarding experience, whether a geologist or not.
Lively discussion and debate was stimulated during the slide show.
The vote of thanks was given by Mary Preston and the raffle was won by Mary Morley.
The excellent supper was provided by Hazel and Hilda.
