AT the October meeting, Glynis Gayton was the speaker.
She lives in the north of the country and belongs to her local WI.
As a young girl, she did a Saturday job in a local family bakery and fell in love and married one of the sons.
From then on her life has been involved in every aspect of baking.
Mrs Gayton gave a very detailed account of the working routine from the time the bakers start work at midnight until they finish at 7.30am, when the girls move in to make a variety of cakes while the ovens are still hot.
The family business has been in existence since 1920 and has a very good reputation - they baked for royalty this year. It is in Grendon Baddesley.
On November 1, a Group Meeting takes place at Salford Priors and Bidford's AGM will be held on November 9 in the Crawford Hall.
