SPORTING a brand new clean kit, Bromsgrove seemed intent on keeping it that way as Wolves dominated the early exchanges.

It took some crunching tackles from Steve Gauder to keep the lively Wolves three quarter line at bay. Against the run of play, on ten minutes during another Wolves attack, Richard Newman intercepted the ball on half way to score the first converted try of the game.

This appeared to stir Bromsgrove and after 17 minutes, following a fine drive by captain Jim Brealey, the ball was moved wide quickly through the hands of McNally and Seymour for Andy Bray to score a converted try in the corner. Wolves replied through a penalty on 19 minutes. 'Grove quickly returned to the attack and were rewarded with an excellent unconverted try on 25 minutes from Newman following some good rucking from the forwards. Rounding the half off, Gauder made a break before feeding Tim Hall to score a converted try in the 38th minute.

From the restart Wolves took the initiative and after some good linking with forwards and backs, scored a deserved unconverted try on 43 minutes. Richard Newman then scored his third try of the day on 46mins, which Seymour converted. Wolves again refused to give in and following a fine run from the fly-half scored a converted try on 67minutes. Bromsgrove now put the game firmly out of reach with James Udy scoring the try of the game after making an excellent break and selling two dummies to score a converted try on 70 minutes. The final try of the game came in the 74th minute which saw Udy involved again as play maker before an inside pass for Gauder to score. Ed Seymour converted to round off a fine day with the boot.
