IT'S been a whirlwind season for Dodford race ace Richard Evans.
The 17-year-old clinched the Junior Avon Formula Ford Zetec Challenge Championship at the start of the month in Castle Combe, Bristol.
His triumph was all the more remarkable considering he was the youngest driver to take part in the 14-round championship at the tender age of 17, winning a cash prize and a gleaming trophy for his efforts.
He said: "I want to thank my dad for all the help he's given me this year, he's been brilliant."
Richard made the step up to the Zetec series in March following a hugely successful six year stint in karting, including a runner up spot in the British Junior TKM Championship last year.
To continue his meteoric rise Evans needs sponsorship for the cost of running the car, which he hopes to race in the four-round Formula Ford Zetec Winter Series starting in two weeks time.
