Hutchies Lady looks to have been found a decent opportunity in the Official Opening on Wednesday Handicap at Musselburgh tomorrow.

The eight-year-old mare has shown a bit of improvement this season, her first with highly-successful trainer Jim Goldie, and she should be able to exploit a handicap mark of just 37 in this contest, 1lb lower than when she was a fair second at Ayr a fortnight ago.

Hutchies Lady goes best when the mud is flying but has form on all surfaces.

This is another moderate affair and she should go well.

Goldie can initiate a double with hardy performer Johayro.

The seven-year-old has run almost every week this season but always tries his heart out and should be staying on at the end of the five-furlong New Links Pavillion Handicap.

The trip is on the sharp side for him but he has twice won over course and distance and is more or less guaranteed to run his race - something which could perhaps not be said about all of his rivals.

Mick Easterby's forays south of the Watford Gap are always worth nothing, even though they are few and far between, and Card Games is an interesting contender for the JHF Ltd Stakes (Showcase Handicap) at Windsor.

Card Games was a fine second to Further Outlook at York on her latest appearance and has run well all year, including a solid fifth behind Lady Boxer in the Ayr Silver Cup.

Those two runs came at six furlongs and she will need a good test now that she is dropped back to five but none will be finishing with more with more determination.

Princess Chloe can take the Alfini Nursery.

She showed dramatic improvement from her debut when winning nicely over this course and distance earlier this month.

Big-field maidens at Windsor usually throw up a couple of decent sorts so the form is probably fairly solid and on that basis, a handicap mark of 76 looks fair enough.

Michael Jarvis thinks that Princess Chloe is the sort to make up into a better three-year-old but in the meantime, success here looks well within her compass.
