TOWN centre residents who have been told they cannot park outside their homes during a temporary re-routing of buses are to appeal against the decision next month.

Other Road residents have been asked to park in Trafford Park car park while work on the new bus station in the town is carried out.

But the move has angered people who are concerned about vandalism to their cars and having to cross the busy Studley Road to go to and from their homes.

Redditch Mayor Mark Shurmer said: "We will take it to the county contact forum meeting on Monday, November 20.

"The borough council has to take some blame because we agreed to the bus station. The temporary bus route will go up and down Other Road and the police and the county council highways department told residents not to park on the road.

"And because it is a temporary measure they did not have to consult and just put two signs at the top and bottom of the road."
