BROMSGROVE U11s 15 Kidderminster U11s 5. A superb performance from a Bromsgrove team lacking several regular players. Playing up the slope in the first half against a strong Kidderminster squad, Bromsgrove showed great determination with some excellent tackling and rucking.

In the second half everyone played their part in one of the best spells of attacking rugby seen for some time. Bromsgrove's margin of victory would have been much greater except for two disallowed tries. Try scorers Ashley Binner (two) and George Russell.

Kidderminster U15s 17 Bromsgrove U15s 14. Bromsgrove scored in the first five minutes with an outstanding effort by George Edginton converted by Pete Douglas to make the score 7-0. Kidderminster soon replied with strong running from their backs who scored twice, ending the first half 10-7 ahead.

Bromsgrove then allowed Kidderminster to dictate and control the game which eventually led to a try by their forwards. Bromsgrove, spurred into action, scored again with James Adams touching down. With only minutes left Bromsgrove put their opponents under pressure but could not score.

Bromsgrove U16s 43 Sidcup 0. Bromsgrove entertained a touring side from Sidcup, Kent on Saturday and after a very even start came away with a comfortable win. The experiment of playing Gareth Edwards at scrum half worked well and the platform provided by the forwards enabled him to spread the ball well to the re-arranged back division.

Re-born winger Ritchie Davey scored the first try and others followed through Steve Bainbridge (two), James Jarvis (two), Pete Davis and Alan Bainbridge. Mark Davey converted four. It was another much improved performance which had coach Alan Haley smiling all the way to Wolverhampton.
