AFTER all the wonderful things that the bowlers of the Malvern Victoria Club have achieved this season, the finals weekend lived up to it all.

The weather was hot and sunny, the Competition Secretaries Kit Aldridge & Derek Webb worked hard to make things run smoothly for the two days, and, as all the club final days should be played, in a great friendly atmosphere with a high standard or bowling.

The star of the weekend was Eileen Douglass who won all four finals she was in, followed by Eddie King and John Clarke each in three finals and successful in two.

If there is sympathy for anyone it should be for the gentle giant Tony Lisseman who for the third year running was runner-up in the club championship but he took his revenge when with partner Alan Reilly he won the men's pairs.
