WEST Malvern returned to winning ways on Saturday and recorded their first Worcester League division one victory.

WEST MALVERN 7, DEW DROP 2

With a full squad available the West got off to a good start when Andy Hurrell opened their account within the first ten minutes and Lewis Wrey added the second after beating two men on the edge of the box.

The visitors fought back and reduced the arrears but the West restored their lead when Hurrell was on target for number three.

The game then swung from end to end with both sides having chances but it was the Dew Drop who got the goal for the teams to go in at half-time with the West leading 3-2.

The early part of the second half saw the best goal of the game when West's Rich Charley cleared from defence to Tom Davies, he rounded the full back and found Andy Hurrell who laid the ball into the path of Lee Tracey to finish in style.

West were now well on top and Andy Hurrell completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Dougie Hall had been unceremoniously felled.

Two substitutes were introduced for the West with Jim McGourty and Will Hardy coming on.

Number six came by way of an own goal following a corner by Hardy and then McGourty was on the scoresheet for the final goal to make it 7-2 and a much improved performance.

Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, sponsored by Amey Comax, visit Droitwich to play the Fox and Goose, players meet Eurohaus 2pm.
