A WELLESBOURNE student has been honoured with a major award for developing a revolutionary non-slip vinyl floor coating for a new company.
Natasha Hirst, who studies at the University of Warwick, has been awarded the Shell Technology Enterprise programme award for Most Enterprising Student in the West Midlands region.
The accolade, which she achieved over a field of 92 students, wins her £250 and she now goes through to the national finals in London next month.
Ms Hirst and the other competing students were placed in companies around the area to see if they could boost the businesses' competitiveness. The chemistry student developed the coating Firm Footing Floorcare Ltd by rigorously testing different polymer combinations and concentrations.
