A MALVERN school is going into the new Millennium with a new uniform and a new logo, designed by the children.
To commemorate the historic occasion, each pupil at St James' CE Primary School, West Malvern, has been presented with a commemorative plate.
Made in a special limited edition by Ledbury's Homend Pottery, the plates are in the school uniform shade of green, bearing the new logo of a sun rising behind the hills.
"The PTA committee thought it would be nice to commemorate the Millennium with something from the school," said head teacher Christine Campbell.
"The idea of the sun and the hills came from the children. Parents also voted and we incorporated a cross to represent our close links with St James's Church."
The old school tie and white shirt have been replaced with a yellow shirt and green sweatshirt, bearing the logo, which also appears on the PE kit.
