BROMSGROVE were well beaten in their second league game by a fitter and committed Hinckley side who scored three tries without reply.

With no previous record of fixtures with Hinckley, who have suffered two league demotions in recent seasons, Bromsgrove began well, showing good control.

A Matt Birch kick on for players to chase was carried out of play by a strong cross pitch breeze but then he, unusually, missed a penalty in front of the posts.

Town spirits sagged slightly but they won the home lineout to set up another attack with second row Derek Livermore sadly losing the ball as he crossed the try line.

Hinckley began to stir themselves and Andy Bott missed a penalty goal chance before the first unconverted home try.

Left wing George Kyriacou scored in the corner with the conversion rebounding off the far post for a ten points interval lead.

Soon after the restart Bott kicked a penalty goal but Bromsgrove didn't give in despite having little room for manoeuvre with eager home backs rapidly encroaching.

Then a Birch touch kick failed and Hinckley quickly seized the chance, exposing the defence by moving right for an unconverted try by outside centre Emerson Yates for the final score of the game.
