A WORLD-famous escapologist will be performing for the last time this weekend at the Malvern Autumn Garden and Country Show.

Nick Janson, dubbed the man of 1,000 escapes, is hanging up his handcuffs and swapping his daredevil lifestyle for a well-earned retirement.

He will be appearing twice daily tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday at the Three Counties Showground.

Suspended from a crane jib, he will escape from a straitjacket at the end of a burning rope. He will also be handcuffed into a bomb, suspended from a plane attached to the crane, with only 60 seconds to get out before the bomb drops.

Nick, who is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the World's most handcuffed man, said: "I started my career in 1954 with an underwater escape from a Post Office mailbag at Westminster Bridge, and I've spent my life hanging around from cranes. This is my swansong."
