SHEEP carcasses and offal dumped in a country lane had to be cleared up by field staff of Malvern Hills Conservators.
Conservation officer David Whitehorn told Board members last week that he suspected the waste to be the product of illegal slaughtering.
However, environmental health chief Frank Seabright, of Malvern Hills District Council, said he believed the boned-out carcasses found in a lane behind Guarlford Church were butcher's waste.
"This is not something we have come across before and we haven't been able to find out who dumped it, but there is no evidence of illegal slaughtering," he said.
Conservators director Ian Rowat also reported that four man-days had been spent litter picking at Townsend Way and the following day McDonalds wrappers were evident again.
Tradespeople, Conservators and District Council officers are to get together to discuss the problem.
