THOUGHT-provoking photographs by the Reverend Peter Holzapfel will be on display at St Denys' Church, Severn Stoke, as part of this weekend's flower festival.
The last exhibition by Mr Holzapfel, who is Rector of Kempsey and Severn Stoke with Croome d'Abitot, caused outraged when it was shown in Worcester Cathedral.
His pictures, designed to jolt people into rethinking their faith, included a crucifix flanked by dead pigs and a heroin needle being hammered into a man's arm.
"This exhibition won't create the same outcry. I don't know if I could cope with it again," he said, but he admitted there might be a hint of controversy in some of the pictures.
Images to go on display with the 25 flower arrangements include Lest Ye Forget, a crucifix surrounded by poppies, and a single Easter lily against a backdrop of broken glass and artist Edward Munch's The Scream.
"The Easter lily represents what Christ did for us on the cross and new life, which is the antidote to the pain seen in Scream," said Mr Holzapfel.
The exhibition can be seen tomorrow (Saturday), when the church will be open from 2pm to 5pm, and on Sunday, between 10am and 5pm.
