Upton's problems will be the centre of attention at a "planning for real" exercise tomorrow (Saturday).

A scale-model of the town, built by pupils at Upton CE Primary, will be on display there between 11.30am and 4pm.

The idea is for townspeople to identify what they consider to be problem areas by placing little signs on the model.

From 2pm, there will also be a fete, organised by Queensmead Residents' Association, to be opened by town mayor Ernie Holder.

An excellent turnout is expected after town councillors hand-delivered around 1,500 leaflets to homes in Upton.

The fete, part of which will be held outside if the weather is fine, includes a fortune teller, tombola and a Second World War living history display.

There will be plenty of activities for children, including a bouncy castle and games like splat the rat, milk the cow and shoot the duck.

More volunteers are needed to help man the stalls. Contact Joyce Brown on 594217 or Norma Davies on 591229.
