WORK on a new pelican crossing near the car park in Hanley Road, Upton, is due to begin at the end of October.
The crossing will be installed by Worcestershire County Council's highways department, but the Town Council has agreed to contri- bute £500 towards the cost.
Members confirmed the amount this week
"Statistically we don't qualify for a crossing there at all and it was hinted that a contribution would be appreciated," said town mayor Ernie Holder.
