CHRIS Bocock has been chief executive of Malvern Hills District Council for several years.

But on Wednesday (September 27) he'll be leading council staff in something quite different: a charity relay run across the Malvern Hills.

They will be raising money for the three causes chosen by this year's council chairman Pat Raven: Community Action, Malvern Hills Homeless Young Adults Trust and Great Malvern Relief In Need.

Starting at 5pm, at the Clock Tower by North Hill, the team will run in stages all the way to White Leaved Oak, south of Ragged Stone hill.

Due to take part are the Council's client services manager Paul Sobczyk, economic development officer Sarah Gordon, solicitor Mike Poole, business and financial planning head David Wood, property manager Pete Maclaren, building control surveyor Mark Rouse and member services officer Sue Besant.

Also clerical support officer Bruce Flintoff, environmental health officer Andy Ferguson, sports and recreation officer Chris Ballard, dog warden Paul Hine, head of development Gary Williams and customer support officer Ann Harris.
