A PLEA by two Brownies for more girls to join the 6th Malvern pack has gone unanswered.
Two weeks ago Sylvia Moeskops, aged eight, and nine-year-old Danielle Stocker wrote to the Malvern Gazette in a last-ditch attempt to encourage more girls to enlist.
Three Brownies packs in Malvern have had to close already this year because of a lack of interest and help.
Brown Owl Lorraine Barson said there was no response to the Brownies' appeal.
"The divisional commission have received a few queries from some girls but they can't get to the meetings for 4.30pm because they're at after-school clubs as the parents are working," she said.
At the moment there are only five girls in the 6th Malvern Brownies but Mrs Barson said they need at least six Brownies in the pack.
"They'll have to redistribute the girls to other packs if they want to carry on," she said. "I feel really sad. I've been doing Brownies for ten years but all of a sudden there's no one around to help and no one wants to be bothered with transporting the children to and fro."
