FOR many years, mobile home residents have had cause for serious complaint about the results of their peculiar situation - living in homes they owned on land they did not own.

Dubious contracts, huge rent rises, overcharging for water, bottled gas and re-sold electricity are among the commonest grievances.

For some, the excessive demands of the council tax banding system have been the last straw.

In July, the Working Party on Park Homes, set up by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, produced a report suggesting some reforms.

It has asked for residents' comments on these recommendations to be sent in by October 31.

Comments should be sent to Michael Davies, Housing Private Rented Sector, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, 2/H6, Eland House etc.
