AFTER the recent petrol blockade and the public support it received, could we pensioners learn a lesson from it? It seems that, as long as you have public support, you can hold the Government to ransom fairly quickly.
Pensioners have overwhelming public support for increased pensions.
The last rise of 75p was an insult. Should we not, at this moment, be laying our old bones on the entrances to the oil terminals? That will soon make the Government think again.
Lets chain our wheelchairs and walking frames together and form a blockade and give Tony Blair 60 days to come up with a rise.
If not we will bring the country to its knees in a week. Let's have a bit of anarchy - that seems to work!
Where's the money coming from I hear someone ask? From the same place as it will come from if the fuel tax is reduced.
