A FREE concert by four members of a Malvern family will be the reward for those who attend the annual meeting of Upton Arts Music Group tomorrow evening (Saturday).

There is no charge for admission to the meeting in Upton Memorial Hall at 7.30pm, when new committee members will be elected and there will be a chance to hear about the healthy state of the group after a successful year.

The concert that follows will be open to all and will feature Alison Uren (flute and piano) with her twin 15-year-old sons Adrian (horn and piano) and Alan (violin and piano) and her daughter, 11-year-old Heather (cello and piano).

Adrian and Alan both play in the National Youth Orchestra while Heather is the youngest member of the ESO Youth Orchestra. All three are Music Scholars at King's School, Worcester.

The next concert, in November, will include an audio-visual presentation by Peter Lawson-Smith and the performance of pieces by the winners of the group's Millennium Junior Composition Competition.

The Arts Music Group already has a varied programme planned for the coming year, with Variations at the January party, Saxophony in March and a tea party at Tiltridge Vineyard in May, with music by Christopher Pearson.

Young musicians will give a concert in July and the Bransford Singers in September.
