MARK Roberson continued his good form for Stoke Works at Astwood Fishery in the Bluebell Pool Open with a pole, corn and meat catch of 23-7-0 of carp from peg two.

In the annual British Telecom Invitation Challenge held at Elmdon Pool, John Hudson (Drum Diamond) finished in top spot with 62-5-0 of carp taken by pole fishing casters and pellets up in the water at peg 19.

At Woodlands View the Affordable Open was won by Kevin Slade (AOK) with a corn and meat catch of 70-2-0 from Deans Pool at peg 47.

Further open winners are as follows: Woodlands View, Maver Masters 2000: Paul Dicks, (Bristol Angling Centre) was long pole fishing corn and meat at High Pool peg 18 for 92-4-0 corn and meat at High Pool peg 18 for 92-4-0 of carp.

Moorlands Farm, the Meadow and Moors Pools Open: John Mottershead (Trentside) by pole fishing corn and casters at Moors peg nine for 90-0-0. The evening Moors Pool Open: Walsall's Dean Gilbert, 98-14-0 from peg 12.

The Civil Service Midlands Regional Qualifier for the CS National Championships on the Grand Union Canal at Knowle: Alan Bartlam (Solihull) who was staked at peg 78 just up from the Black Boy Pub, where he pole fished double caster for two bream and a few roach for 7-4-8.

Moorlands Farm's Thursday Special Open: Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) from Bank Pool peg three with 40 pounds of corn fed carp and 45 pounds of caster fed chub and roach for a 85-9-0 total.

Friday's Costcutter Open: Lee Richards (Fosters Tipton), 175-3-0 of carp, pole fishing corn up in the water at Meadow Pool peg 12. Moorlands Farm, 100 peg EEIBA Electrical Industries Charity Invitation Open: Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) took the trophy with a 70-10-0 catch of carp by pole fishing corn up in the water at Meadow Pool peg five.

Lucas College Road Angling Club were at Kinwarton on the River Alne for its event: Derek Willis needed just three chub and a couple of roach taken with pole and casters at peg one for a first placed 4-0-0.

Long Nuke AC were on the River Alne at Kinwarton: Weoley Castle angler George Hopkins pole fished red maggots at peg 21 for three chub for a top catch 2-13-0.

The 100 AC were on the Staffs/Worcs Canal at Swindon for its Committee Cup contest:Rob Francis led the way with a pole and squat catch of roach and gudgeon for 5-12-8 from five pegs below the green pipe.

Alvechurch Fisheries Horseshoe Pool Open: Richard Massey (Alvechurch) by pole fishing corn over casters down the margins of peg 42 for 57-4-0 of barbel and carp.

Kevin Slade (AOK) continued his good run of victories at Woodlands View with a ton up catch of 109-0-0 of big carp taken with pole, corn and meat from Deans Pool peg 25.

Moorlands Farms Middle and Moors Pools Open:John Mottershead (Trentside) with 60-12-0 from Moors Pool peg nine. Mottershead rounded off his week with a huge 135-11-0 carp catch at the evening Meadow Pool Open, by pole fishing casters up in the water at peg 15.

Astwood Fisheries, the Bluebell Pool Open: Stoke Prior matchman Mark Roberson followed on from his mid-week win by topping the Bluebell Pool open from bonus peg 20 with a pole, corn and meat catch of 21-3-0 carp net.

Moorlands Farm's annual King of Tons was held on Tuesday for all matchmen that had broken the 100 pounds barrier in open events. It was run over three two hour matches on the Bank and Meadow Pools with John Mottershead (Trentside) crowned the new king, taking a 152-3-0 total from pegs 29/56 Meadow and 22 Bank, where he pole fished worm over casters. Jamie Masson (Hallcroft) was second with 141-5-0, third place went to Les Thompson (Tim's Tackle) 131-1-0.

On Wednesday Alan Higgs (CSM) made his first visit to Astwood Fishery and promptly won the Bluebell Pool open from peg 19 by pole fishing meat for 78-2-0 of carp. Second Mark Bradley (Alvechurch) 27-9-0, third Mark Roberson (Stoke Prior) 25-4-0.

At Woodlands View the Arles Pool open was won by Alan Jones (Diawa Gordon League) with 84-4-0 of carp by pole fishing chopped worms at peg 25. Second Simon Williams (Fosters Tipton) 70-12-0, third Denis O'Leary (Woodlands) 66-15-0.

The top match weight of the season so far was recorded by Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) when he put 190-1-0 of carp on the scales from Meadow Pool peg 12 from where he pole fished casters up in the water. Second place was Mal Watson (Shakespeare) 150-14-0 and third was Steve Pickup (Fisherman's Friend) 113-11-0.

The Thursday Special open was also held on the Meadow Pool and Carl Gibbons (Tim's Tackle) won with 119-2-0 from peg 19 by pole fishing meat up in the water. Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) followed with 102-3-0, third Steve Collett (Alrewas) 85-13-0.

Saturday saw Moorlands Farm host the Wizzow Youth Classic with two fixtures. First was the U21s over two three hour matches, and Warrington 16-year-old Craig Lowndes had two section wins with a ten point total and 79-15-0 taken with pole and corn to win the trophy and an Irish holiday plus £100 prize money. Second was Peter Franklin (London) with nine points 51-13-0, third Adam Evans (Kingswinford) nine points, fourth Jemma Slaney (Hallcroft) nine points 37-9-0.

Second was the U16s event with 14-year-old Leanne Ashington (Birmingham) showing the boys how to do it by pole fishing corn at Bank Pool peg 19 down the margins for 54-15-0. Second Luke Hughes (Droitwich) 38-15-0, third Grant Nock (West Bromwich) 26-0-0.

Telfish AC were on the River Severn at BAA Hallow Meadows Four and Five for its Chairman's Shield. It was yours truly Tony Brunn who took the top spot from the bottom of Meadow Five where I whipped out 240 bleak on bronze maggots for 7-3-0. Second Dick Dark 6-6-8, third Ron Allen 3-13-8.

Birmingham's Chris Hill (Fosters MG) had a double victory at Moorlands Farm over the weekend with a 79-14-0 catch from Meadow Pool peg 58 by pole fishing double red maggots. Second place went to Darren Clewley (Team Wesson) with 76-11-0, third Barry Garner (Moorlands) 47-7-0.Sunday saw Hill move into overdrive. This time he was at Meadow peg 55 and he changed his bait to white maggots to take 126-5-0. Runner up Lee Nutland (Bristol) had 98-5-0, with third placed Dave Hill (Fosters MG) 92-4-0.

Droitwich matchman Rob Francis (Ovation Leisure) headed the Astwood Fisheries Buddleia Pool open with two tench and a mixture of smaller fish for 15-6-0 taken with pole and red maggots from peg 81. Second Mark Roberson (Stoke Prior) 13-6-0, third Dave Hughes (Boars Head) 8-3-0. The Alvechurch Fisheries Horseshoe Pool open was won by Paul Williams (Docklow) with 57-4-0 from peg four. His dad Dave followed with 49-11-0, third Nigel Watts (Northfield PAC) 49-6-0.
