SIDECAR Racing team Geoff and Ruth Hands from Chipping Campden won the Classic Racing Club's main race of the year at Snetterton in Norfolk.
This was the one race they really wanted to win. They have entered six times previously but have always been plagued with mechanical problems and even had a puncture one year.
This year's win had its problems in Saturday's qualifying races.
They had trouble with the belt drive system from the engine to the gear box and only managed to qualify third fastest.
But, luckily, team mechanic 'Rusty' Hart spotted the problem and made the necessary repairs for the race on Sunday.
Conditions were perfect and, when the flag dropped to start the race, the Cotswolds couple made a great start and led the race from start to finish winning by ten seconds from Belgian champions Jean-Pierre Capel and Damien Van Pee.
It has been one of the duo's best year's racing with a win and new lap record at the Isle of Man Classic TT, wins in Belgium, Germany and now victory in the prestigious Classic event.
With only one meeting left this year, at Mallory Park on Sunday, October 22, they would like to finish with another win.
