WHAT a ludicrous letter from Jim Stote (You Say, September 11).
He says the British and French have nothing in common. In fact, in recent weeks, British truckers and farmers and some others, have shown themselves to be just like their French counterparts, only more so.
Seeing British holidaymakers being held to ransom by, to use his phraseology, "riff-raff on the other side of the Channel" angers Mr Stote. I imagine those holidaymakers were even more resentful when they came home to receive even rougher treatment from either own people.
I salute the Prime Minster. He could not surrender to blackmail.
