EDWIN Singleton emerged as Bewdley High School's star performer in GCSE examinations.
He achieved eight A* and an A after sitting the exams during the summer.
The school's headteacher, Margaret Griffiths, said: "Edwin gained very good marks from hard work and proven ability.
"We're very proud of him and many of his year group."
Eight As were achieved by Karen Cutts and Rachel Sturges, who also each recorded a B.
There were four A* and four As for Simon Warren.
