NOW that the fuel dispute is over, I wish to say that I was astounded by some of the Government supporters' claims that the petrol blockade was a Conservative plot.
Where are they coming from? It was a demonstration by the British electorate against the unfair fuel tax charged by Blair and his cohorts on the British people.
Mr Blair, because of a large increase in North Sea oil prices, is receiving a massive increase in revenue from VAT.
This surplus should be passed on to the British public by dropping the price of fuel by a minimum of 8p per litre.
We have seen the waste of money in Local Government with the pre-May election Labour Party forcing through money leaching programmes such as the Perdiswell park-and-ride and the Quayside development.
I ask the people of the Faithful City to remember these events at the next elections when there is a chance that there will be a Conservative Government returned to power who will listen to and not tramp on the people.
A few weeks ago, a delegation, led by Richard Adams, hit the High Street and collected 450 signatures against high fuel taxes - at the time Mike Foster was probably watching foxes.
