THE winning team in the ladies Am-Am held on at Evesham's Craycombe Links was the quartet of Annie Bird Evesham, Hillary Ridsdale (Evesham), Jennifer Jones (South Herts) and Jessica Magill from Woburn with 85 points.

A band of rain crossed over the course during the middle part of the competition but it failed to deter the competitors in the 3\4 handicap stableford format event.

Taking second place was the team comprising Ann Rossiter and Rosie Speake (both Evesham), Sue Rowles (Tewkesbury Park) and Kath Francis (The Worcestershire) which amassed 81 points. One point adrift were Pat Mayo (Evesham), Lynne Ottway (Droitwich), Jean Humphries (The Vale) and Ingrid Dawson (Cirencester)

Winners of the morning 2s was Sheila Clemmow (Redditch) with Evesham's Ann Rossiter taking the afternoon honours.

The popular Adopt a Junior competition attracted 54 entries and the greensome stableford format produced some good scores.

Juniors from the age of seven took part in the nine-hole competition and club professional Dan Cummins teamed up with eight-year-old Scott Law and only just missed out on the back nine from winning the 18-hole competition.

Results - 18 holes: Laura Day & Edward Day 39pts (cb); 2 D Cummins and S Law.

Nine holes: 1 Lloyd & Warwick Holland 22pts; 2 Ruth & Richard Minton 19 (cb); 3 Mark & Dave Everett 19.
