BROADWAY GARDEN CLUB: The August meeting was addressed by Reg Moule on the subject "Making the Most of Autumn Bulbs". Mr Moule regularly broadcasts on Hereford & Worcester and Radio Gloucester but did point out that he was no an "active pensioner". The change in weather patterns gave gardeners the opportunity to fill gaps in the garden in autumn. He gave the audience many hints for filling pots and containers. The competition "Flowering Pot Plant" was won by Christine Savage, Penny Valender was second, whilst Shirley Goburn was placed third. The September meeting will take place on September 25 at the usual time and venue. The speaker is Mrs V Brook on the subject of "Colour in the Garden in Winter". The competition is "Plate of 3 Tomatoes".
