PARISH COUNCIL: Open Forum: Two residents attended.

Cllr G B Jelfs, vice chairman, chaired the meeting.

District Council: Cllr G Bourne advised on planning applications in neighbouring parishes which could have an effect on Bretforton.

Burial Ground: Following the planning application for an extension to the burial ground notification has been received that the application may effect a late Iron Age-Romano British Settlement site. Further investigations will take place.

Speed Restrictions: Work is scheduled to start in October.

Audit: The audit for the year ended March 1999 has been completed.

Memorial Hall - Re-roofing: Work on the roof scheduled for August was postponed. Hopefully this will commence in October.

Dog Fouling: Further advice has been received from the legal department concerning the implementation of a Bylaw banning dogs from the recreation ground and playing field at the Common.

Back Lane: Correspondence has been received concerning the spoil which has been deposited on the verge following sewage work at Brook Villas. This will be removed as soon as possible.

Victoria Arms Site: The development will be known as Victoria Gardens.

Worcs Beacon: information was requested on houses which did not receive a free newspaper either on a weekly or monthly basis.

Road Closure: A copy of the official notice of road closure had been received. This will be for a six week period for major road repairs on the B4035 beyond Stoneford Lane.

School Governor: Mrs P Watson has been appointed as the parish council representative on the board of governors at Bretforton First School.

Revised Bus Timetable: Booklet concerning changes as from September 3 had been received.

Station Road: Correspondence had been received concerning the use of building in Station Road which was formerly an agricultural building. This would be investigated

Distribution: Ten items of minutes and reports would be circulated to councillors for information.

Planning applications: D Morys and A Harwood. Revision of application for single storey house and garage on site of Old Barn, Bridge Street.

A H Harris, Stoneford Lane: Extension to offices (first floor over existing. Extension to warehouse to provide covered vehicle parking) Loading area in place of secure yard.

Approved: Larkborough Farm. Conversion of barn to farm workers dwelling.

JFX Hettich, Bretforton Manor. Form opening in internal wall, panelled folding timber doors.

JFX Hettich, Bretforton Manor. Stripping the east slope of kitchen wing roof, recovering with second hand plain clay tiles over underfelt on new battens.

Fly tipping: A letter advising that a quantity of household items had been dumped in Stoneford Lane. Arrangements would be made for this to be cleared.

Pot holes: Blocked drains and pot holes had been reported.

n Visibility: Letters have been sent on the two areas reported, Main Street, Coldicotts Lane junction, saplings and long grass growing in the railings. Shop Lane/Main Street, long grass in the railings causing poor visibility. Complaints have been received about the trees on the junction Coldicotts Lane/Main Street which are growing across the footpath, causing obstruction to pedestrians and poor visibility for drivers accessing Main Street.

Chains, School: These have now been removed.

Lower Hind: Complaints had been received concerning the soil which has been tipped at the site in Station Road. This will be investigated.
