FLAME-haired TV star Rula Lenska needs you - as long as you don't have obvious tattoos, body piercings, back problems or are a man with long hair.

Rula is headlining the Royal National Theatre production of An Inspector Calls, which comes to the Everyman Theatre next month, and needs 12 extras for crowd scenes.

Six men and six women are needed, aged from 18 to pensioners. They will work on a rota system and be available for all the performances during the run in Cheltenham, from October 24-28.

They will appear on stage twice during each show and will also be offered a pair of tickets each.

The unusual restrictions put on would-be crowd members are because the show is set during the Second World War and will also involve standing still for a while, explained Everyman chief executive Philip Bernays.

"However, appearing on stage with a company as prestigious as the Royal National Theatre is an opportunity most people only dream of," he added.
