A TOWN group has created a brochure which it hopes will increase tourism in Stourport and make life easier for visitors to the area.

Stourport Town Centre Forum is putting the finishing touches to its new marketing colour brochure which should be available in hotels, tourist information centres, libraries and other locations by the end of the month.

The guide will feature a large Stourport map in the middle supported by several information sections including lists of events, the town's history and places to visit and stay.

Stourport Town Centre Forum chairman Derek Fradgley said: "Creating the brochure supports our general aim, which is to encourage people to use Stourport as a base whereby they come here to stay for a while and go on to visit places such as Witley Court and Hartlebury Castle.

"We are now waiting for the mayor to select photographs to feature in the brochure and it should be ready by the end of the month."

He added: "There are many marvellous places for Stourport visitors to see, including the Severn Valley Railway, Bodenham Arboretum, the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre and the safari park.

"We want people to know Stourport is a lovely holiday town with a great history where they can stay when visiting these locations."
