TWO lifelong friends who were at school together in Kidderminster will meet up again when one steps out on a 200-mile walk to London later this month to raise money for the Prostate Research Campaign.
Terry Morgan, of Stourport, will wave off Arnold Watkins from St Barnabas CE First School, where they met as pupils 57 years ago.
They are also old boys of King Charles I Grammar School.
Mr Watkins contracted prostate cancer in 1989 and was treated successfully due to early diagnosis. He has raised £16,500 to date in sponsorship.
Mr Morgan, of Wilden, a former senior partner in solicitors Morton Fisher, which has offices in Wyre Forest, said they had remained friends since their schooldays.
He added: "Contacting prostate cancer understandably gave Arnold something of a fright and he was determined to put something back into research into finding a cure for this dreadful disease."
Mr Watkins will begin his walk on Wednesday and hopes to complete it next month.
