REFERRING to the letter from Mr Mark Foster, and the ongoing saga of the Post Office, perhaps he is a newcomer to the town, for how else would he not know Bengeworth has always had it's own Post Office, even run by the same family for the last 35 years, and there has been no need for people of Bengeworth to journey to the High Street and there will be no need for inconvenience in the future when the Riverside site is set up.
For the last 25 years, Bengeworth Post Office has been in Northwick Road and there is even a large public car park at the rear. Ten years before it was in Port Street.
Mr Foster is welcome to visit us because, as he realises, new business is always welcome. Indeed, having his own business in Bridge Street, he is very close to the Riverside site. Of course there is nothing wrong in furthering the cause of your own business. It makes sound commercial sense.
The move is, however, a fait accompli and nothing will change the commercial mind of the Post Office Authorities.
