A MILLION-TO-ONE baby boom hit a Kidderminster family with two bonny bundles of joy born on the same day.

The Robins family is still reeling from the double baby delight at Kidderminster Hospital on Tuesday morning.

First Nerissa Robins gave birth to baby Dominic just after midnight. Then sister-in-law Terri followed suit two hours later with Sade.

Grandfather Tony Robins, Terri's father and whose son Darren is married to Nerissa, was still in shock as he spoke to the Shuttle/Times & News.

He said: "You must stand a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening - we can't believe it!

"It's wonderful news. And best of all both babies are happy and healthy."

Mr Robins, of Victoria Place, Kidderminster, said the babies were due to be born two weeks apart.

However, he should not be too flabbergasted by the cooing cousins arriving on the same day.

After all he shares his birthday with son Andrew.

Grandmother Christine Robins, who spent the early hours rushing between the two delivery rooms, thanked hospital staff for their work.

She said: "They were absolutely amazing and really there for the mums. My daughter had a bad experience at another hospital with a previous baby but the treatment at Kidderminster was fantastic."
