SEPTEMBER 6 was birthday night .
Kay Downing entertained members with a series of monologues which took the form of a trip around the British Isles. She illustrated them with a variety of costumes and props.
The committee had made cakes to celebrate the 31st birthday and these were enjoyed in the interval which was followed by the raffle for the millennium quilt, won by Ivy Stephens.
Notice was given of the fish and chip supper next month and a trip to see Carousel.
Next month's meeting will include a talk by Mr Thornton about his work at Biddle and Webbs auctioneers.
